A new photobook press from Melbourne.
"...suddenly being with a Eurasian became desirable. Maybe it’s the presence of attractive and familiar Anglo-Saxon features mixed with unfamiliar and novel Asian ones? Like the way some people get excited over an oddly-shaped McDonalds chicken nugget" – Adam Chandler, Reticulate (2016).
Etcetera Press's debut photobook is Reticulate, featuring a longform-interview with Melbourne-based activist, writer (and public transport afficionado), Adam Chandler. Charting the complexities of Eurasian-Australian identity, alongside escaping from a far-right Catholic cult in '90s regional Victoria, Reticulate prods at what constitutes 'Australian' identity and the expectations of what an 'Australian' body looks like.
